How can I join RG Sacco?

To join RG Sacco, you must fill in a membership form, provide your ID and passport photo, and then pay Registration fee / Membership fee of Kshs. 500 to Mpesa Till No. 145149 and initial shares subscription of of Ksh 2,000 to Mpesa Till No. 646879.

What are the benefits of being a RG Sacco member?

Some of the benefits of being a member of RG Sacco include and are not limited to; access to a variety of savings accounts tailor-made to your needs, such as a Holiday Account, Children’s Accounts, access to short and long-term loans with competitive interest rates.

Who can join RG Sacco?

Any person can join RG Sacco from all the market segments, including; employed people and business people.

What are the benefits of saving money with RG Sacco?

Some benefits of saving with RG Sacco include; high savings, qualifying for higher loans and higher dividends, and high savings guaranteeing a member comfortable retirement.

How to get my Account Balance?

RG Sacco sends the balance SMS automatically whenever one sends his savings, repays a loan or buy shares. This message is received instantly, unless when there are network delays. The minimum amount you can send is 50/-

  • To know how much you have saved, send 50/- to Mpesa till no. 145149
  • To know your loan balance send 50/- to Mpesa till no. 736491
  • To know how many Shares you have send 50/- to Mpesa till no.  646879

NB: This money is also credited to your account and will be in the new account balance. Eg if your account has 1000/- then you send 50/-, you will receive an sms with Kshs. 1,050/- as the balance. For loan, the amount will be deducted from the outstanding loan balance. Eg, if your loan balance is 1,000/- and you send 50/-, you will receive an sms with Kshs. 950/- as the new outstanding loan balance.

If you do not receive any SMS from RG Sacco, it means either you are not registered as a member, (or for loans, you do not have an active loan with us), or you unsubscribed from our SMS service by sending the word STOP to 20465. If the latter is the case, then write an email to info@rg.co.ke requesting to be subscribed back. Alternatively, you can view your account statements through our android app, or by logging into your Account.

How different are you from other Sacco’s?

Our Sacco is BOSA Sacco (Back Office Sacco). We don’t offer over the counter service (front office services) as other Sacco’s does. We only receive non-withdrawable savings/deposits from members with intention of borrowing or just saving. Closure of an account takes up to 60 working day and the savings are refunded fully at no cost/charge.

We don’t have physical branches all over Kenya in major towns. But we are physically present to any member through our online platforms any time and from any where.

We are totally paperless in all our operations (account opening, saving, loan borrowing and withdrawal)

Our members don’t have a common bond. Any member can join as long as you have a registered SIM card.

Can I be able to withdraw my savings anytime I want?

No. Savings are not withdrawable. A member can only withdraw the loan amount borrowed any time. This is according to the Co-Operative Society Act governing BOSA Sacco’s in Kenya on which we operates under. We receive non-withdrawable savings from our members.

Member’s savings are only withdrawable when he/she has requested for account closure

How much do I need to save to acquire a loan with RG Sacco?

 To acquire a loan with RG Sacco, you must save for at least two weeks, and you must have saved at least Kshs. 2,200/-

Does the Sacco have an ATM card?

The Sacco has an ATM card. We have collaborated with Co-operative Bank to enable our members to withdraw cash from any Co-operative bank ATM and any other Visa-enabled ATM. To apply for an ATM card, download the ATM card application form from the website, fill and return to Sacco for processing. Once the card is ready, you will receive an SMS from RG Sacco informing you to collect the card.

How can I withdraw from the Sacco?

For you to withdraw from the Sacco, you will have to give written notice of 60 days. Withdrawal is subject to clearance of all Sacco liabilities.

What channels can I use to repay my deposits, savings, loans and shares?

You can repay deposits, savings, loans and shares through your mobile phone by dialling USSD *645#  or *886#, Mobile Application or WhatsApp Banking and following the prompts or by cash payment through the FOSA or society’s bank account at Co-operative bank of Kenya.

How do I improve my Credit Score?

Get Organised!

Paying your RG Sacco Loan on schedule will show that you’re a reliable person to lend to. You should start with small manageable loans. Don’t borrow more than you need. If you pay back your loans in full and on time, it proves you’re good at managing your money. This will improve your credit rating at RG Sacco and it will be very easy access more loans at better interest rates.

Also make sure your account details are correct and consistent. For example someone who keeps on changing phone lines may send the wrong signal and could make the borrowing process more difficult.
